After losing his programming job and dropping out of school, Tom Porter rents an apartment in The Tower, a tall building with small apartments and cheap rent. Soon after, he receives a postcard in the mail in spite of the fact that he has not provided anyone with his new address. The postcard is addressed to “Porter” and written in the flowing script that surely must be that of a beautiful woman. Upon investigation, he learns that the previous resident of the apartment shared his name but met with a mysterious demise. Porter lives vicariously through each subsequent postcard until he must finally decide if he will risk everything for a chance at a new life.
Postcards for Porter is based on a short story of the same name by Bradley Silvius.
